Nelson Mandela: "The end marks a new beginning. Don't just quote me—surpass me."
If Mandel left a letter to all world leaders and potential world leaders this is what it will say.
Dear Leader,
"I am leaving now. Goodbye. It is your turn. My hope for you is that you will stand on my shoulders, walk taller, see farther, speak clearer, and do greater things than I have done as I go the way of all things.
I have shown you that with passion, determination, and vision, you can accomplish anything. Dream bigger. Do not let your inhibitions shackle you, and do not worry about what others will say. Live life to the fullest. If you do, even a prison cell can become a palace—a place of transformation, enlightenment, focus, and redirection. It can become a turning point for global change.
Let your dreams be bigger than yourself, outlasting your lifetime and showing humanity a better way. Do not be afraid of anything. If death comes, accept it—it will never come a day sooner than destined. Look at me: I am proof of this.
Fight for what you believe in. Do not settle for mediocrity or compromise. Let them talk—people have mouths; give them something worthwhile to talk about.
Know yourself. Improve yourself in every dimension: academically, mentally, psychologically, physically, emotionally, spiritually, and philosophically. Strive for balance in life. Do not allow one aspect of your life to consume all your energy at the expense of the others.
Focus is crucial
Distractions will come in many forms: power, money, hate, abuse, fame, and greed. People will try to use you as a weapon in their game of life. Do not allow it. Remember, you have the power to collaborate with others while still standing firmly for justice, equality, and fairness.
Have a deep passion for life, but do not cling to it too tightly. Find moments of quiet to reflect on your day, correct your mistakes, and plan to do better. When opportunity knocks, act decisively.
You are born a leader
Lead with integrity, honesty, and faith in humanity's potential to create change. Do not be overly concerned with positions—they come and go. Instead, position yourself mentally as a leader, whether you are a cleaner or a president. The universe desperately needs both.
Above all, be yourself. Show the world that it is a better place because you are in it. And when, like me, your time comes to leave, you will do so without regret.
Like Paul in the epistles, I say to you:
Stand on my shoulders and fly
You are not alone
Madiba
